Going home

Today we are heading home. I wish it could've been longer so we could do some more cool stuff at each of our locations. I made some good friends and it was fun spending time with them.

fun times in Arizona

I had so much fun there are a lot of things to do in Arizona. One of my favorite things that i did there was go to the Old Tuscan studies. We went to watch the actors do stunts and we also go to go on the set and watch a stunt up close. Another place we went was the pima air museum. I got to learn a lot about different kinds of planes. I also enjoyed was the horse back ride up the mountain for breakfast. At first I was scared to ride a horse, but after awhile I got used to it and then I wasn't as scared anymore. But, it still scares me to ride a horse down hill because it feels like your going to fall off. I also think that the Grand Canyon is an amazing and a beautiful place. I'm very glad that I went on this trip because I met a lot of new friends, learned a lot, and saw many cool things.

Last Day in Arizona

After some sad goodbyes to our Alaska, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania friends, and a good breakfast at our hotel, we are preparing for our 10:00 shuttle to the airport. All of our friends had to leave early this morning, and we are just relaxing in the lobby. It has really been a great trip, and I will never forget it.

Grand Canyon Memories

I will never forget the wonderful friends, experiences, teachers, and memories i had on this trip. I never knew how awesome this would be; meeting new friends, hiking up and down the Grand Canyon, riding horses, going to the old Tuscon Movie Studios, and actually seeing Saturn. I hope to stay in touch with everyone that went on this trip.

I don't want to go home!!!!

Yesterday we all said our goodbyes and said a little something to each of the teachers and to all our new friends. I hope I never forget the experiences and the memories that I got to make with new friends here in Arizona!

Pancake Breakfast

I had a lot of fun on my horse and hanging out with new friends as we had a pancake breakfast after a trail ride up the mountain.

Pima Air & Space Museum

My favorite day, Day 4

2 days ago I had my favorite day(so far). At first we started out by working in the Saguaro national park by helping measure and record. Then we all learned how to groom and ride our horses. Then we went on a trail ride. My friends and I all then fished for 4 hours straight. I caught a 5-pound catfish, and nice bass, and about a million tiny bluegill. It was a great time. It really was an amazing day.

My favorite of activity of yesterday

I have had lots of fun. Yesterday we went to Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, and the Pima Air and Space Museum. My favorite was definitely Tombstone.

Great Fun in Arizona

Ihad a whole lot of fun at the Grand Canyon. My favorite part was hiking the trail and looking down at the Colorado River. The ranch was great because I got to ride a horse, and swim, and have a real cowboy barbecue. It was great to meet new friends and spend time with my other friends from school.

Giving Back to the Community and Having Fun - Western Style!

Today we got to assist the marvelous rangers and interns at the Tanque Verde National Park by locating, measuring, recording data, and pinpointing the exact location of saguaro cacti in a marked area. It was incredible how quickly our group took up the task and within minutes were working independently to record this information. This information is vital to the maintenance and preservation of the saguaro cactus and the park itself. The activities of the day answered an age-old question. "When am I ever going to use this math skill?" Ah, yes. The Pathagorean Theorum was in use today! A handy dandy tool was used to calculate this information, though, simply by looking through the tiny lens and reading the pair of numbers that were indicated - all the while keeping both eyes open. It was a little tricky at first, but soon they looked like pros at work. After making notes about the features of each cactus and measuring its height, our GPS Tracker specialist-in-training determined the coordinates that pinpoint its exact location on the earth. Pretty cool! After working for two hours in the desert, the students were sorry to go because they were having a great time. Back at the ranch, however, we saddled up and rode horses through the desert. I never knew how beautiful the desert could be. Swimming, fishing, and water color painting rounded out the afternoon. After another magnificent dinner, we enjoyed the rattle snake wrangler as he taught us about this much feared creature. Every day is just as fascinating as the one before. I can't wait until tomorrow.

Tanque Verde Ranch

Today was amazing! In the morning we rode horses and that is the best thing we did today! We went on a beautiful trail through the desert. We also got to meet a rattesnake wrangler which was really cool! I am really looking forward to the rest of the week.

One of the Best Days Ever!!!

Today was one of the best days ever!! We went horseback riding, and swimming!!! Exciting!!! I also learned a lot about cactus, ( how to measure them, how to locate them) and how to not get pricked by them. Today was most likely one of the most busiest days so far.

A Wonderful Day at the Canyon

Sunday, we started our trip by hiking the Grand Canyon in three groups. Ms.Jessica,Sam,Ridge,Camie,Madelyn,George, Cameron and I were in one group while we hiked this magnificent natural wonder of the world. I think that so far besides having to get up early I like everything so far!!!:) Today we went to measure & see the height, distance & other stuff about the Saguaro cactus!!!!!! Tonight we are going to learn about the diamond back rattler.
